Birmingham.—J. R. Tate, solicitor of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court, has filed disbarment proceedings in the Circuit Court against Charles B. Powell, a well-known attorney of Birmingham. The proceedings were filed ez rel State of Alabama and also in the interest of the President of the State Bar Association and the Central Council of the State Bar Association. The averments accuse the defendant of being guilty of deceit and willful misconduct growing out of an appeal from the Circuit Court to the Supreme Court in a petty suit in which the sum of the judgment was less than $85.
