WINCHESTER, VA., Feb. 13.—William C. Smith, a prominent farmer, died today, aged about 70 years. His widow, who was Miss Harris, of Rappahannock County survives him, together with several children. He served during the War Between the States in Colonel F. W. M. Holliday's Regiment; was wounded and taken prisoner, and was confined at Fort Monroe when President Davis was also a prisoner there.
Other deaths last night and to-day: Lewis R. Miller, a successful miller, aged 83 years: Archibald McCarty, 85 years; Perry Pultz, a victim of consumption, aged 45 years; Miss Betsy Bromley, 82 years; Mrs. Jacob Rosenberger, 23 years, and Miss Emma Lewis, 13 years, the second member of her family to die within a month.
