Col. J. W. Sloss last night, received a telegram from Athens announcing the sudden death of his oldest daughter, Mrs. George Mason, of heart disease. The Colonel and Messrs. Mac and Fred. Sloss went up on the midnight train to attend the funeral. Mrs. Mason had a wide circle of acquaintances throughout North Alabama, and was devotedly loved by those who knew her best.—Birmingham Age.
