Description: General News of the death of John Friend
Date: June 1911
Newspaper published in: Bridgeport
At his place near Angora on Friday last the body of John FRIEND was found lying dead beside a fence and the supposition is he was struck by lightning, although there was very little electrical disturbance that day. Mr. Friend left the house in the morning and when he did not return to dinner members of the family started in search of him with the result that the body was found as above stated. Mortician L. R. NORTH and W. D. COCKE went out that evening and embalmed the body and they say there was a black stripe down the right side and leg, clear to the foot, from which the skin peeled on being touched. The body was taken to Grand Island for interment.
