WHEEL TAX CASES DELAYED.
Lawyers Agree to Take Up Charges Against 25 Offenders Tomorrow.
Another continuance was obtained in police court yesterday in the matter of the delinquents meeting the wheel tax as prescribed by Congress. At a previous continuance, the cases of 25 offenders were continued until yesterday, but by agreement between Attorney Frank J. HOGAN and Assistant Corporation Counsel Gus A. SCHMIDT, the trial of the cases was postponed until tomorrow.
Statements were made by the officials of the District government that a 1arge number of men served with warrants by reason of their tardiness in paying the tax had visited the assessors' office and submitted to the imposition of the tax. This would, they say, end the matter as far as they were concerned.
