Description: Jack London's Cousin Badly Hurt

Herbert Shepard, cousin to Jack London,the well known author is lyiing at his rooming house in Sparks in a serious condition today as the result o a run away yesterday during the Labor day celebration. Shepard was one of the entrants in a saddle horse race. His horse became unmanageable and ran for two miles. The young amn was thrown and injured internally as well as receiving numerous cuts, scratches and bruises.
