LEFT PRISON TO WED.
Nicholas D. OFFUTT, of Rockville, Md., pardoned two weeks ago by Gov. GOLDSBOROUGH of Maryland, after having served five years of a fifteen-year term in the Maryland penitentiary, was married Saturday to Miss Anna H. BOHRER, whose home is 18 miles from Rockville, and who remained betrothed to him through their long separation. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. G. ENGLAND at his home, 5702 Georgia avenue northwest.
The wedding was the culmination of a romance which began more than six years ago, before the bridegroom was sentenced for the murder of Frank KRETZMER, a merchant of Rockville. OFFUTT is said to have become enraged at KRETZMER when he heard KRETZMER had insulted his sister and shot him.
Miss BOHRER, with OFFUTT's mother, pleaded to Gov. GOLDSBOROUGH for her lover's pardon.
