PRACTICE DRIVING CHARIOTS
"Rehearsals" Will Be Conducted for Pageant on Benning Track.
Chariots, which will be driven in the pageant drama, "The Fire Regained," to be given May 16-23, will arrive in a day or two from New York, and the work of schooling the horses by their fair drivers will take place at the Benning track, it is announced. One of the chariots, it is said, will be driven by a prominent young society woman, noted for her beauty.
A general rehearsal for the pageant will be held this evening at 8 o'clock at the headquarters of the pageant, 1517 H street northwest. General rehearsals will also be conducted tomorrow and Friday evenings. Group rehearsals are being conducted in the afternoons. Thirty young men to take the part of satyrs are desired by the management of the pageant, which is under the general conduct of Director General Preston GIBSON.
