POLICE NEWS NOTES
Robert CANTER, 22 years old, a tinner, of 700 E street southeast, fell from a roof yesterday morning at 1901 Third street northwest, while walking across the cone, and broke his neck. He died instantly. The body was sent to the District morgue.

Michael KELLY, 33 years old, of 310 Third street northwest, loading a wagon at the Tenth street wharf southwest yesterday afternoon, was struck on the head by a heavy piece of wood and received a scalp wound. He was taken to the Emergency Hospital.

Ernest S. SMOOT, 13 years old, of 2521 Connecticut avenue northwest, was thrown from a bicycle on the Calvert street bridge yesterday, when he tried to catch hold of a street car, and was bruised about the face and head. He was taken home by friends.

Just before daylight yesterday morning fire of unknown origin in the home of Henrietta FRANKLIN, 1260 Tenth street northwest, did $50 damage. The members of the family were asleep when the fire was discovered. They were awakened and got out of the building without difficulty.

The coroner's jury in an inquest yesterday into the causes of the explosion of an ammonia tank in the plant of the Home Ice Company, Twelfth and V streets northwest, the morning of February 18 last, when Brooks KING, 60 years old, of 3708 K street northwest, received injuries from which he died in the Emergency Hospital on Tuesday, exonerated the ice company and found that the accident was unavoidable.

Lloyd REGAN, 30 years old, of 818 Eighth street southwest, while on Eighth street southeast, between G and I streets, attempted to stop a dog fight. He was bitten on the hands and went to the Emergency Hospital.
