Cumberland, Maryland February 13, 1846
A Negro man, who calls himself GEORGE CHAMPS, of a dark complexion, with a bald place or scald on the right side of his head and a scar immediately over the right eye, who is now confined in the gaol of Allegany County. The said Negro is about 5 ft - 6 or 7 inches high, and about 50 years of age. His clothing is made of drab colored cloth. The owner of the above described Negro is hereby notified to come forward immediately and prove property, pay charges and take him away; otherwise, he will be discharge according to law.
