Emerson Institute Commencement

Music and oratory prevailed at the Universalist Church last night, the occasion being the annual commencement exercises of the Emerson Institute. The students furnished the oratory and the Marine Band the music. The audience was composed largely of ladies, and fans fluttered everywhere. Upon the platform was Mr. Charles B. YOUNG, principal of the school, and General HUNT, Governor of the Soldiers' Home.

The declaimers were N. T WILSON, P. E. HUNT, Richard T. MERRICK, Frank R. HAGNER, Philip KING, Harry WALKER, Leigh R. GIGNILLIAT, Edward McCAULEY, Jr., Samuel E. WATKINS, Harry BURDETTE, Wright SMITH, Harry HUGHES, Oliver METZEROTT, and Cornie HAINS.

Wright SMITH delivered the salutatory and R. A. H. CLARK, the valedictory.

The graduates were:

Presley E. HUNT, Columbian University.
