Exhibition of the Pupils of the Holy Cross Academy - Harris's Bijou Theatre Crowded with the Friends of the Institution - An Attractive Programme Successfully Carried Out
Long before the appointed hour yesterday, Harris's Bijou Theatre was crowded with the friends and relatives of the young lady students of the Holy Cross Academy, the occasion being the 20th annual commencement of that popular and thriving institution. The day was most auspicious and for the event, which passed off in an extremely interesting manner, the young ladies exerting themselves successfully to carry out their various tasks. The little misses received a large share of the generously bestowed applause for the very fine display of musical talent. The audience insisted on an encore, but the time being limited it was impossible to gratify that wish.

After Dr. Chapelle had concluded his very interesting address, in which he advised the graduates to live up to the principles of truth and morality hat had been taught them, and wished them God-speed on the practical journey they were about to take through life, gold medals were awarded as follows: Misses L. Saum, K. Trainer, M. O'Conner, E. Bouis, M. Feeley, M. O'Brien, A. Murphy, V. Minor, J. Dickenson, and G. Moran.
The graduates were Misses Genevieve Moran, Julia Dickenson, Virgie Minor, and M. Clements, and each received a handsome gold medal and a diploma, and, in addition, a magnificent prayer book.
