Accidents

Child Burned to Death: While alone in the second story room at 21 South Bethel street, little Beatrice BROWN, 3 years old, was burned to death last week. It is supposed that she went too close to the stove and her clothing was set on fire. Her screams aroused the neighbors, who ran to her assistance and extinguished the flames. Little Beatrice died a few hours after the accident.

Run Over by a Wagon: Thaddeus QUEEN, aged 8 years, was knocked down and run over by a double team express wagon on Camden Street, near Howard, last week. The heavy wheels passed over the lad's body, fracturing several ribs and seriously cutting his left eye. He was removed to the Maryland University Hospital in a patrol wagon, and the driver of the wagon, C. J. MURPHY, placed under arrest. He was later released on bail for a hearing at the Western Police Station.
