Mrs. H. H. Hewitt was elected president of the Alton Monticello Alumnae and Students Association, succeeding Mrs. R. L. Jackson. Mrs. Spencer T. Olin was named first vice president; Mrs. John A. Ryrie, second vice president; Mrs. Groves B. Smith, secretary; Mrs. John Duncan, treasurer. Other board members included Mrs. Mather Pfeiffenberger, Elsie Hartmann and Isabel Norton.

Alton Supervisor William F. Threde, disabled since he suffered an injury to one of his legs, was reported seriously ill at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Luer, in Fairmount Addition.
