Description: Mrs. P. A. Simon Killed In Auto Accident

Date: July 11 1925

Newspaper published in: Mina

The people of Mina were greatly shocked when a telegram was received by Mrs. W. H. SAUNDERS Wednesday evening stating that her daughter, Mrs. P. A. SIMON, was instantly killed in an auto accident in Los Angeles. But little information was obtainable up to the present writing. From what could be gathered, Mr. and Mrs. SIMON and their little daughters were out in their car. Seeing a car coming directly toward them at a wild speed, Mr. SIMON made a sharp swerve to avoid a collision, but the oncoming car struck them as they were turning out, and overturned the SIMON car and crushing Mrs. SIMON to death. One of the little daughters was also seriously injured, and is now in the hospital. Even after wrecking the car the driver did not stop, but he was later arrested and held on a charge of manslaughter.
Mrs. SIMON, who was the wife of P. A. SIMON, the former president of the SIMON Silver Lead Mines, Incorporated, was a resident of Mina for a number of years up to about a years ago when they moved to Los Angeles. She is survived by a husband, two sons, Ralph and Albert, three daughters, June, Joy and Ivy and her mother, Mrs. W.H. SAUNDERS of Mina.
Mrs. SIMON was a splendid type of American womanhood, a devoted wife and loving mother. During the trying times and ups and downs of her husband in developing the SIMON property from a prospect into one of the biggest mines in the West, her faith never faltered, and she stood shoulder with her husband in the work, and was his inspiration when things seemed darkest.
Western Nevada Miner extends heart felt sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
