Katherine Foote Marsh, 94, died at her home on Seminary Street. She was the widow of Ebenezer Marsh, banker and civic leader. As a child she had heard relatives discuss the election of James Polk as president, and as a young woman, she had attended the Lincoln-Douglas Debate in Alton in 1858.
