Obituary.

Departed this life, the 12th instant, ARTAMUS DAY, aged 63 years, precisely. Mr. DAY was a native of New Jersey; he had lived in Albany, Athens County, Ohio, the thirteen years which closed his humble but useful life. He was the first abolitionist who openly espoused the cause of the slave in this county; he faithfully adhered to his principles for forty years. His sobriety, integrity, piety, and moderation gave him an influence for good over many persons. The last meeting at which Mr. DAY attended was the monthly concert of prayer for the slave. He spoke also with much feeling of the Anti-Slavery cause. He prayed to the last day of his life, most fervently, for the emancipation of those in bonds.
