Description: Obituary E. F. LE CATO

Date: October 20 1891

Newspaper published in: Chicago, IL

Page/Column: 2/6

Edwin F. LE CATO, manager of the bicycle department for A. G. Spalding & Bros., died yesterday, after a brief illness, at his residence, No. 415 LaSalte avenue.

The deceased was a young gentleman of great promise and wide popularity. He had only reached the age of 31, and had been one year in this city, having come here from Baltimore, where he was well known in cycling circles. He had been ailing for about six days, but did not consider his illness serious. Yesterday his condition became suddenly worse, and death supervened without any attempt at rallying. Mr. LE CATO had numerous friends in this city, to whom the intelligence of his early and unexpected death will come with pain and surprise.
