Anniversary Celebrated and Graduating Exercises Held
Addresses Appropriate to the Double Occasion Delivered by President Hall and Others
Exercises commencing the 50th anniversary of the founding of the college and the graduation ceremonies for the class of 1914 were held in Chapel Hall, Gallaudet College, yesterday afternoon.
The meeting was presided over by President Percival Hall. The Rev. Stephen M. Newman, D. D., president of Howard University, delivered the invocation. Addresses were made by President Emeritus Edward Miner, President Hall, and Prof. Charles Alphonso Smith, of the University of Virginia.
The orations of the graduating class were as follows: "The Feast of Judah," Rebecca Helen Rosenstein; "One of California's Gems," Edith Mabel Nelson, and "Specialization," Lawrence
Earle Johnson.
