Date: September 5 1885
Newspaper published in: St. Louis, MO
Decatur, Ill., September 4.--By the accidental explosion of gas in the Decatur coal mine, last evening, four Germans were seriously burned about the face and body. A piece of slate had fallen out of the roof and gas collected there, out of reach of air currents. The lamp on a miner's head caused the explosion. John MILLESKI is thought to be fatally burned, though he is still alive to-night.
