Cambridge, Md., July 33 1884:
Certain sections of Dorchester county are undergoing a severe drought. In the vicinity of Cambridge and in the Neck district is is estimated that the corn crop is already cut short at least 25 per cent. The springs are also becomming low in the Neck district and in some places water is scant.
The telephone line from Madison, Woolfords and Church Creek to Cambridge was completed today and telephone communication with those villages will be established in a few days.
The July equity term of court convenes on Monday next There will be little business tranacted and court will probably not sit longer than two days.
The corner stone of the new Baptist church now being erected on Locust street will be laid on Wednesday.
