The Prohibition excutive committee will meet in the court house next Tuesday to fill vacancies on the ticket. Mr JAMES ROBINSON , who was nomonated for the House of Delegates by the Prohibition Convention , declined the nomination this week in a card in the Advertiser. This makes two vacancies to fill thus far.

CAPTAIN WINGATE of the Oyster Police Force, is now at the mouth of the river on the lookput for Somerset oystermen who are taking oysters from Wicomico waters. The raid upon the Somerset men by Wicomico oystermen last Saturday has caused considerable talk among our oystermen and the say they intend to break up this pillaging of their beds. Captain Wingate expects to make arrest as soon as he can catch them.

The regular yearly inspection of the county almshouse by the county commissioners will take place on the 28th inst.

A building boom has struck Pittsvill, a village on the Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad a few miles from Salisbury. Eight or ten new dwellings are in course of errection. The same is being done in nearly all the small villages of this county.

The farmers near Riverton are seeding more wheat this fall than usual. Farmers are busy all over the couunty getting in wheat. The dry weather somewhat retained them but the rains of this week have hurried them up. Large quanaties of wood are now corded on the wharves here ready to ship, but the price being low in the cities, much of it will be held for a rise in price.
