Michael KNOPF, prominent resident of Hawthorne who died Monday of last week following an automobile accident in which he received the fatal injuries was laid to rest in the Hawthorne Cemetery Friday afternoon (18 Dec). Services were at the Knights of Pythias hall with Fred WOOD officiating. Casket bearers, all close friends of the deceased were L.W. BERRUM, S.T. KELSO, Joe MALATESTA, Oscar GERBIG, John ANDREWS and Fred WALLACE.
Relatives of KNOPF who came to Hawthorne to attend the funeral were Fred C. PFLEGER, nephew of deceased from Los ALtos, CA, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. REGAN and daughter, Mrs. Audrey M. ANDERSON from Burlongame, CA. Mrs. REGAN was a niece of the deceased. They returned to California Saturday.
