(Special to the Journal) Hawthorne- A funeral service will be conducted at the Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel here Sunday for Murray W. La BOUNTY, 81, who died Friday in a Hawthorne hospital.
Rev. Ross Clealand will officiate at the rites and burial will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery.
LaBOUNTY was born 7 Jan 1890 in Nelson, Nebraska. He came to Hawthorne from South Dakota in 1943. After teaching for a year at Mineral County High School he delivered mail between Hawthorne and Thorne for ten years (1944-1954). From 1954 to 1960 he worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot here.
LaBOUNTY retired in 1960 and opened the Dutch Garden Nursery in Hawthorne.
He had been in the U,S, Army Medical Corp in WWI and was a member of the Veterans of Foriegn Wars and the Community Presbyterian church. In addition he was a member of the Republican Committee for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife Beatrice; a son Edwin M. of Bellingham, WA; two daughters, Janice B. ELBERSON of Denver and Arlene WILLIAMS of Fallon; sister, Mrs. Grace KERN of Timberlake, MN and a granddaughter, Kristin WILLIAMS of Fallon.
