Oct 1: New storage reservoir water supply entirely exhausted.
Oct 4: Jesse E. SPURRIER, 19, Mt. Airy, killed instantly in auto accident near Plane No. 4.
Oct 7: Samuel SHRADER given two years for shooting Obed A. DETTINBURN, Knoxville. [Transcriber's Note: Knoxville is presumed to refer to Knoxville, Frederick County, Maryland, rather than Knoxville, Tennessee.]
Oct 8: D. Charles WINEBRENER and Harry SNOOK arrested by Federal agents on charge of illegal purchase and possession of narcotics.
Oct 10: William WARNER, East Sixth Street, killed in automobile accident near Waynesboro, Pa.
Oct 12: Roland G. BIDDINGER, 34, of Burkittsville, gets 10-year term on incest charge.
Oct 18: Dr. William L. PAYNE seriously injured in automobile accident at Walkersville.
Oct 28: Rev. S. A. HEDGES dies in Middletown.
Oct 30: Deepest October snow on records, four inches, falls.
Oct 30: Mrs. Elsie SULLIVAN, Brunswick, shot and killed in home; Jesse CAMPBELL, Brunswick, held.
