Miss Mary WILCOX will entertain informally Wednesday afternoon, March 5, at a reception from 5 to 7 o'clock, in honor of Mrs. William Cumming STORY, of New York, at the Congressional Club, 1432 K street. There are no formal cards of invitation, but members of the Congressional Club, friends among the visiting and resident members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, of the Colonial Dames of America, of the Legion of Loyal Women, and of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, are most cordially invited.

Representative and Miss CANNON will close their house immediately after the inauguration and go to one of the southern springs resorts for some time. They will probably make a trip around the world later. Miss CANNON will return to Washington next winter to spend the months of January and February, when she will be accompanied by her father and her niece, Miss Virginia Le SEURE, who came out here this winter.

Comte de la Foret d'Yvonne has arrived at Washington, and is spending some time at the University Club. Comtesse de la Foret d'Yvonne, formerly Miss Florence Audenried, remained at their home in France.

Mr. and Mrs. Philander P. CLAXTON announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Claire to Mr. Dale Redmond MAYO, jr., of Knoxville, Tenn. The date of the wedding has been set for the early part of April.

The Congressional Club entertained Friday at the last of their winter series of afternoon receptions. Mrs. John Burgess WEEKS of New York, was the guest of honor, and gave a delightful interpretation of Ibsen's "Peer Gynt," with Grieg's music by the Lorleberg Trio. Following the interpretation Mrs. WEEKS received with Mrs. E. W. ROBERTS, president of the club, and Mrs. Duncan U. FLETCHER, who succeeds Mrs. ROBERTS next Wednesday. Mrs. Charles E. PATTON and Mrs. T. S. CRAGO, of Pennsylvania, 'presided at the tea table. Assisting were Mrs. STEPHENS, of Wisconsin; Mrs. W. B. CRAVENS, of Arkansas; Mrs. DOUGHERTY, of Missouri; Mrs. DANFORTH, of New York; Mrs. PROUTY, of Iowa, and Mrs. Thomas DAWSON, of Iowa.

Viscountess Benoist d'Azy will sail for France on Thursday, to be with her small son Charles, who is in school in Paris. Accompanied by him, she will return to this country in the summer to join Viscount Benoist d'Azy on a trip through the Northwest.

Miss Lucy Hoke SMITH and Miss Callie SMITH have returned from Panama.
