They Ate the Apples - Four Little Boys in Trouble Over Some Stolen Fruit
An apple tree on the edge of the Soldiers' Home ground, with its fruit-laden branches bending over into the road, caused four little boys, William O'BRIEN, Edward WALSH, Forrest MILLER, and Thomas RUDDERFORTH, to get into serious trouble yesterday afternoon.
The apples were just green enough to tempt the ironclad appetites of the boys, and they determined to have a feast. They were busily engaged in plucking the green fruit when Officer MORGAN, of the Eighth Precinct, discovered them and placed them all under arrest. They were charged with malicious trespass, but were afterwards released on $5 collateral each.
