La Salle, Ill., Nov. 22.--Sister Maura, of St. Mary's Hospital, today renounced her vows and eloped with John GRAY, of this city. The couple purchased tickets to St. Louis.

GRAY was an inmate of the hospital for several months, but they met only a few days ago.

Two months ago Sister Maura went to Minneapolis where she collected a large amount of money to which she had fallen heir. Ten days ago she returned with the money.

The Sister Superior says Sister Maura was either hypnotized by GRAY or mentally affected by the money. She had been in the hospital seven years, was young, pretty and considered an excellent sister.
