Snow Hill, Md., Aug 11, 1892:
Canals and inlets form, to a large exent, the theme of conversation for the citizens of Worcester living on navigable streams. In 1885 it was suggested that a canal from the Pocomoke River to Sinepuxent Bay be constructed by the government. The object was to give a route to the people along Sinepuxent Bay to get to Baltimore without having to go 'outside' and to connect Ocean City by steamer to Baltimore. Last summer the matter was again revived and SENATOR GIBSONS attention called to it. He took action in the matter and secured an order for a preliminary survey, which MR. A. STEERIE, of GENERAL SMITHS department, came to Snow Hill yesterday to make.
