Berlin, Md., Feb 9, 1893:
Yesterday, LITTLETON HICKMAN a prosperous farmer of St. Martins Nec, Worcester County, lay down on the hearth in front of a roaring fire in the fireplace and went to sleep. Coals from the blazing logs fell upon his clothing and set them afire and were nearly burned off before he awoke. He is now in such a precarious condition that his life is in danger.
