Donnie D. Waggoner, 66, of Baylis died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
He was born Sept. 9, 1941 in Pearl to Lowell and Ethel Jarreau Waggoner.
He was an engineer for Okie Moore Diving and Salvage Company in Alton for 27 years. Prior to that he worked at Donohoo Shell, Pearl and Pittsfield Sonoco.
He was married to Irma Scott June 23, 1962 in Pearl and then later married Donna J. Smith Feb. 23, 2002 in the Christian Church in Pearl and she survives.
He was a member of the Baylis Baptist Church, Pittsfield Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, working on older cars, #1 Chicago Cub Fan, and gardening. He enjoyed his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and spending time with them. He loved to tell stories.
His survivors include his mother, Ethel Waggoner, Baylis; wife, Donna Waggoner, Baylis; five daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Sandra) Odelehr, Brussells, Mrs. Vickie (Wally) Nation, Golden Eagle, Melinda Pohlman, Golden Eagle, and Mrs. Michael (Melisa) Barber, Springfield and Jessica Smith (Dave Ballinger), New Haven, Mo.; two brothers, Bruce (Sharon) Waggoner and Randy (Nancy) Waggoner, both of Baylis; five sisters, Mrs. Dave (Rita) Baughman, Pittsfield, Mrs. Larry (Debbie) Waters, Pittsfield, Mrs. Ferrell (Lisa) Fish, Baylis, Mrs. Greg (Angie) Ward, Baylis and Mrs. Bill (Melanie) Stinson, New Salem; a half sister, Carol Amayha, Georgia; five grandchildren, Kya Nation, Brianna Pohlman, Brook Pohlman, Adam Barber and Corbin "Nubbin" Ballinger; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his father, Lowell, and two brothers, Ronnie and Matthew.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with burial at the Greenpond Cemetery in Pearl with Rev. Jimmie Jacques officiating. Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 9, from 4-8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield. Memorials are to the Greenpond Cemetery or the Baylis Baptist Church.
