SPECIAL NOTICES.

Office of The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of the District of Columbia, Washington, January 5, 1901. - The annual meeting of the Mutual Fire Insurance Company of the District of Columbia will be held on the THIRD MONDAY in January, 1901, the 21st instant, at the office of the company, No. 962 Pennsylvania Avenue northwest, commencing at 9 o'clock a. m.
By the charter of the company the election of seven managers to conduct the affairs of the company is required to be held at the above meeting.
By the sixth article of the by-laws of the company it is provided: "At the annual meeting of the company the first business in order shall be the appointment of a chairman, who shall conduct the meeting and election in accordance with the act of incorporation between the hours of 9 o'clock a. m. and 6 p. m."

The annual statement will be ready for distribution at the office of the company about January 17.

The annual meeting of the stockholders of the Anacostia and Potomac River Railroad Company will be held at the office of the company, Fourteenth and East Capitol Streets, Washington, D. C., FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 1901, for the election of directors to serve for the ensuing year, and the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the said meeting. Polls will open at 12 o'clock m., and close at 1 p. m.

Notice - The annual meeting of the stockholders of the Lincoln National Bank for the election of directors will be held at their banking-house TUESDAY, JANUARY 8, 1901, from 12 to 2 o'clock p. m. It is proposed to amend Section 3 of the Articles of Association by striking out "fifteen" and inserting "not less than five or more than fifteen."
