HANNIBAL - Velma Perry Bohon, 83, of Hannibal, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at her son's home in Hannibal.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Terry Buster will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. There will also be a visitation from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bohon was born May 7, 1924, the daughter of Earnest Meyers and Anna Begley Meyers. She married William L. Perry on Dec. 24, 1941, in Hannibal, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1976. She later married Edward Ray Bohon in November of 1982 in Palmyra. He also preceded her in death on March 27, 2002.

She was survived by her sons, Lawrence E. (Sondra) Perry of Bella Vista, Ark., Richard Leon (Judy) Perry of Hannibal and William R. (Teddy) Perry of Shelbyville; her daughters, Loretta (James) Bohon of Hannibal, Donna M. (John) Selleck of Palmyra and Connie (Danny) Burnett of Vandalia; her sisters, Virginia Winkler of Festus, Frances Glore of Peoria, Ill., and Martha Thompson of Nashville, Tenn.; and her very special friend, Grace Augspurg of Palmyra. She was also survived by her six stepchildren; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Woodrow Meyers, Herbert Meyers, Virgil Meyers, Floyd Meyers and Andrew Meyers; her sisters, Edna Smith, Ruby Bugh, Ruth Iams, Dorothy Hoskins, Sarah Uppinghouse and Donna Fay Moore; and her grandson, Britton Eric Perry.

Mrs. Bohon was a homemaker and had lived in the area all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palmyra and the Women's Missionary Union at the church. She volunteered with the Sunshine Ladies at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra and was a member of the Lewis County Nursing Home Auxiliary in Canton. She loved to crochet and loved working in her church. She was very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Palmyra, the Blessing Hospice of Hannibal or the Palmyra Nutrition Center in Palmyra.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Eugene Perry, Devin Leon Perry, James William Bohon, Robert Michael Trower, John Christopher Selleck and Brandon David Bealmear.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Bohon's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
