By virtue of decrees of the Circuit Court of the city of Alexandria, Va., rendered at the November term, 1873, and the November term, 1877, in the Chancery suit of FAIRFAX against THORNTON and others, the undersigned, commissioners by said decree thereto authorized, will proceed, on Saturday, the 15th day of June 1878, at 12 o'clock M. to sell by public auction, in front of the Market building, on Royal Street, in the said city of Alexandria, Va., a tract of land in Fairfax county, Va., containing of six thousand seven hundred and fifty-four (6,754) acres, in the bill and proceeding mentioned, besides the residue of the original purchase by THORNTON from FAIRFAX remaining unsold. The Washington and Ohio railroad is located though the tract. A plat of the property will be exhibited at the time and place of sale, and the same offered in lots or as a whole, as may prove to the interest of all parties concerned. Terms of sale: Ten thousand dollars cash, and the residue of the purchase money to be paid in equal installments at one, two and three years respectively, with interest from the day of sale, to be evidenced and secured by the bonds of the purchaser, with good personal security; the commissioners to retain the title to said land until the purchaser shall have paid all of the purchase money. No. 1, folio 20. The large brick fronting on Sixteenth street and the two small bricks fronting on L street, with ground attached, will be offered separately. Terms of Sale: One-third cash (of which $100 on each house must be paid at time of sale), and the balance in 6, 12, 18, and 24 months, in equal payments to be secured by purchaser's notes, bearing 8 per cent interest, from day of sale, and payable semi-annually until paid, and a deed of trust on the property sold, or all cash at option of purchaser.
