Ruby O. Niebur, 91, of Pittsfield died Monday, March 3, 2008, at the Liberty Village in Pittsfield.
She was the daughter of Albert R. and Julia Ogden Martin and she was born Jan. 24, 1917 in Honey Bend. Her first marriage was to Fred L. Dively and they were married Feb. 10, 1934 in Decatur and he preceded her March 3, 1980. She later married Phillip L. Niebur March 23, 1988 in the Chapel at the Pittsfield United Methodist Church.
She worked at the Brown Shoe Company, Safe Way Grocery and Margaret's Flowers, all in Pittsfield.
Ruby was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church, Pittsfield Dance Club, O.E.S., American Legion Auxiliary Post 152, avid bridge player, United Methodist Women - Madonna Circle. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Phil.
Her survivors include her husband, Phillip Niebur; four daughters, Mrs. Pattie (Anthony) Flora, Freehold, N. J.; Mrs. Rita Saathoff, Rochester, Mrs. Marsha Miller, Pittsfield and Mrs. Shelly (Mac) Arnold, Bloomington; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her first husband, Fred Dively; a grandson, Tom Melton; two son-in-laws, James Saathoff and Robert Miller; a brother in-law, Dean Niebur and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Linda Peyla officiating. Burial was at the West Cemetery in Pittsfield. Lunch was served following the service at the United Methodist Church in Orr Hall. Visitation was held Friday, March 7 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home. The memorial is to the Pike County Special Olympics.
