HYATTSVILLE NOTES.
Hyattsville, Md., Aug. 13 - The delegates to the Democratic county convention from Hyattsville, Bladensburg, Vansville and laurel districts left this morning by way of the Chesapeake Beach railway for Marlboro.
In Republican circles matters are quiet, considering that the primary meetings will be held next Saturday. The sentiment in Hyattsville and Bladensburg districts appear to be in favor of MUDD as opposed to McCOMAS. The probabilities are that anti-McCOMAS delegates will be sent from both districts. Cecil CALVERT made a strong speech favoring McCOMAS last night at an open air meeting, and his remarks were well received, but there were not enough Republicans present to gauge sentiment.
Miss Edythe GALLANT gave a party Tuesday night in honor of Miss Annie MURRAY, of Georgetown. There were present Misses Eva FOWLER, Emily HICKEY, Marie MAGUIRE, Claire MATTINGLY, Marguerite MATTINGLY and Annie MURRAY, and Messrs. F. BLOCK, T. BREITLING, Will HAVRON, W. Hampton HICKEY, Frank MUDD, Robert W. WELLS, and Clarence WILSON.
Miss Susie McCHESNEY gave a party Tuesday night to celebrate her eighteenth birthday.
