NEWS FROM ROCKVILLE.
Rockville, Md., Aug. 13 - Harry ROTHSCHILD, aged twenty-one years and ten months, of New York city, and Miss Carrie St. Clair SHURTER, aged nineteen years, of Kingston, N. Y., were married at this place Tuesday by the Rev. R. L. McNAIR, of the Presbyterian Church. This marriage is a surprise to the friends and relatives of the couple. The bride had been visiting in Washington. The groom arrived in that city on Monday evening at 6:30 o'clock. Informed that it was then too late to come out to this place and be married, they postponed the trip until yesterday.

The secretary to the board of school commissioners for this county has completed the annual report ended July 31, which shows total receipts from all sources for the year to be $67,118.11, and disbursements, $66,354.43, leaving a balance on hand of $758.68. The enrollment for the year is 6,567, and the average attendance is 3,473, or 82 less in enrollment, and 76 more in average attendance then [sp.] last year. All the schools are supplied with teachers except Buck Lodge, Etchison, Blairs, and a principal at Kensington. The total number of schools is: White, 83; 2 less than last year; colored, 30. Total number of teachers: White, 97, three less than last year; colored, 32, five less than last year.
The Teachers' Institute, white, will meet at this place on September 17 and 18. The white schools open on Thursday, September 17, and the colored open on Monday, September 21.

Charles F. BROOKE has entered suit at this place before Justice ROBERTSON against the United States Express Company, for $30 for the failure to deliver a dog, the property of the plaintiff, received by the defendant to be delivered at this place. August 24 next, at 10 a. m., has been set as the return day of the writ. Service of the summons was had upon C. H. WHITE, agent of the defendant at this place.
