George Menes WILSON, 68, a well known former resident of Fallon and Schurz area for many years was ambushed and murdered in Honduras recently while he was working on a mining project there.
He was born 30 Mar 1929 in Frackville< PA and had lived in Northern Nevada for 35 years. He graduated from the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada, Reno with several degrees.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a mechanic. During the 1960's he was a curator at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pete WILSON and former wife, Karen WILSON of Hawthorne,
Survivors include brothers, Andy, Jim, Steve and Nick WILSON and their spouses, three nephews and a neice.
Time and date of a memorial will be announced at a later date.
