Clarence Jacobs, 81, of R.R. 1 died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday at St James Hospital. He had been in failing health seven years.His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Rooks Creek Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 13, 1892, in rural Pontiac, a son of Herman and Augusta Woltzen Jacobs. He married Linda F. Bertsche Sept. 16, 1937, at Meadows.
His only survior is his wife and an aunt.
His brother preceded him in death.
He had lived his entire life on the farm where he was born and was a member of the Rooks Creek United Methodist Church and was a trustee of the church 36 years. He managed several area baseball teams and served on the board of directors of Graymont Community Hall. He was also a trustee of Rooks Creek Cemetery for 36 years.
