Daniel Sandidge, an old citizen of Oakland township, Schuyler county, Ill.
died last Saturday at the residence of his son-in-law, J. Linsey, near
Walnut Grove, McDonough county. Born in Kentucky February 23rd, 1804, he
married Permala Pate of Lincoln county, Kentucky October 12, 1825. In 1830
he moved to Illinois and located in McDonough county. He wife died in this
county February 27th, 1845. That fall, he married Cynthia Phillips of
Schuyler county who survives him. He is survived by 6 daughters and 5 sons. He was buried in the Salem, McDonough county, graveyard.

William Kirkpatrick Stewart was born September 14th, 1790 in Salsbury, North Carolina. At age 19, he began studying at Hamtondon Sidney College
for the ministry where he graduated about 1814. He married Lucretia
Moore of Elkton, Kentucky on April 1st, 1817. He remained at Elkton until
1830 when he moved to Vandalia, Illinois with his wife, 5 children, and
brother-in-law, W. H. Moore. His wife died the following August. In 1836
he moved to Macomb. His second wife died in 1874. Rev. Stewart died
April 27th, 1852, aged 61 years, 7 months, 18 days. (Sketch written by
