Killed in Collision.
Auburn, NY, Sept 26. A head-on collision between a New York passenger train
and a freight occurred this morning at 6 o'clcok just west of Old Flat-
bottom bridge, about half a mile west of the city, as a result of hwich three
people are killed, two fatally injured and four seriously injured. The dead
are: Emmett Lanctot of Rochester, engineer of the freight train, J. G. Curry
of Rochester, fireman on the freight train; James E. King of Skanateas. The
responsibility has not been determined, but the freight which is due in the
city at 1:55 was running on the time of the passenger train, and this fact
was known to Conductor Eighme of Rochester, who had charge of the freight
train when he ordered his train to leave Aurelius, the first station west of
the city.
