Alabama Department of Archives and History maintains the largest collection in the state of microfilmed newspapers. Newspaper microfilm may be viewed at the library, may be borrowed through interlibrary loan or reels may be purchased.

Newspapers on Microfilm Database - This database contains a listing of all microfilmed newspaper holdings by the department and can be searched by county, title or type of newspaper.

Hardbound Newspapers Database - This database contains a listing of their holding of original newspapers and can be searched by county, newspaper title, or type of newspaper.
